Keeping you up to date

This is a summary of what has been happening this week:

TPO - Mole Valley Council have now placed an interim tree protection order on the whole PM site until they have had a chance to go on site to examine all the trees and specify which ones will get a permanent order.  This will present another major problem to any developer purchasing the site.

REMOVAL OF EQUIPMENT - During the week reports have been reaching us that more and more of the schools equipment is being removed – the IT equipment is reported as going to Danes Hill and the science equipment to Manor House.

CHARITY COMMISSION - The Group Letter has been despatched to the Charity Commission expressing your concerns and we have received confirmation that it has arrived – you can still add your names to the list of concerned parties which will be forwarded on to the Commission to demonstrate the volume of support that we have for our position.  If you haven’t registered your concern yet, do it now by emailing us at concern@pmparents.co.uk (or just click the email address) – giving us you name, address, children’s name(s) and year group or alternatively your connection with the school if you were not a parent at the end of this term.

FINANCIAL CLAIMS - The financial team are still talking to various law firms about which way to pursue any claims.  As soon as they have arrived at a landing we will let you know.  Keep visiting the website to check for more information.

PRESS COVERAGE - The Junior Department’s closing received extensive photographic cover in the Leatherhead and Dorking Advertiser in a half page feature on page 3 – this is available from the website.  In addition there was coverage of the Senior Department Church Service without photographs.  We believe that the Epsom Guardian will also be covering the last day in this week’s edition but a copy has not yet reached us.

These are the things you can do :-

ACTION FOR ALL PARENTS- Please click on this link to download the letter to register your interest in making a financial claim against the Parsons Mead Educational Trust Ltd – if you haven’t done so already. Add your address, fill in the amount you wish to claim against the suggested entries or add others as required. Please despatch the letter as soon as possible to Mr House (at Parsons Mead School)  or hand in at the School Reception. All claims must be made individually - a show of strength is the only way to possibly avoid court action later.

DONATIONS – we have completed the paperwork to open a bank account, we are waiting for account numbers etc…  As soon as these are available information will appear on the website giving ways to make donations – any amount no matter how small will help to keep the Action Group going – many thanks in advance.  If all else fails bring cash or a cheque made payable to the Parsons Mead Action Group to the meeting in September.

ACTION PARENTS - UNIFORM DONATIONS - BY 19 JULY - A number of charities have been approached to take over our PM school uniforms. School clothes dropped into the Senior Hall by Wednesday 19 July will be sent to needy educational charities in South Africa and Kenya on your behalf. Please ensure clothes are in good condition and place shoes in pairs into separate bags or tie the shoe laces/ buckle together. No clothes can be accepted after this date.

ACTION - WEBSITE FORUM – Let us know what your issues are by using the website forum. Please tell us if there other things that you would like us to do. – you can use a pseudonym if you wish and we recommend setting up an anonymous email account if you don’t want you name to be known.

A DATE FOR YOUR DIARY - The next meeting of the Parsons Mead Action Group is scheduled to take place on 14th September at 7:30pm - more details soon.
