Letter from Chair of Governors Parsons Mead Educational Trust (PMET) announcing agreement of outline terms between PMET and Cognita; Parsons Mead to be under new ownership starting Autumn 2005

1st July 2005:

In the last week of the Summer term parents receive letter from PMET announcing its decision to bring Parsons Mead under Vernon Educational Trust (VET) that also owns Danes Hill School;

Parents invited to meet VET and Robin Parfitt, headmaster of Danes Hill

 

July 2005:

Following the meeting on 5th July, Mr. Parfitt sends letter to parents confirming the merger between Danes Hill and Parsons Mead, and introducing every Trustee of VET; Sixth form guaranteed for another 2 years

Robin Parfitt announces appointment by “Governing body” (PMET or VET not clear) of Mrs Moran

Mrs Moran addresses parents and presents her vision for Parsons Mead

Mr Martin, marketing manager, presents results of parental questionnaire and tells upbeat story of growing pupil numbers and future developments

Several parents’ calls to Mrs Moran not returned

 

6th June 2006:

Pupils told of school closure by the Deputy Head at assembly, during exam week (staff had been informed the previous evening); parents informed by letter, but many finding out via e-mails and phonecalls from distraught children following assembly
